As results of the high raw material cost, it is reported that CIS mills have adjusted upward for price increase in billet bookings after the Christmas and New Year holiday in 2013.

The Ukrainian mills are asking US$10/ton more than the January shipment quoting at US$535/ton FOB Black Sea for February shipment.

On the other hand, the Turkish mills are keeping the same price level with US$10~US$15/ton increase last week for billet and deformed bar order booking.

There is no sign of price softening in the next several weeks due to scrap scarcity and steady order booking in Turkey. The Chinese mills seem to remain tough on prices until the Chinese New Year.
